In a recent New York Times story President Trump stated he would issue a “Notice of Environmental Violation” against the City of San Francisco about the homeless problem there. He said this was because of used needles ending up in the ocean…Quoting from the article, “'They’re in total violation — we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon,' the president said, indicating that the city could be put on notice by the Environmental Protection Agency within a week that its homelessness problem was causing environmental damage.”

Trump went on to say, “They (San Francisco) have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

Of course, both the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed and Nancy Pelosi, our Speaker of the House in Congress, whose district includes San Fran denied the problem and both said they are all working on housing, increasing services to the mentally challenged and drug addicts, the waste doesn’t go into the ocean, and that Trump is “ridiculous”…“'In San Francisco,' Breed said, 'we are focused on advancing solutions to meet the challenges on our streets, not throwing off ridiculous assertions as we board an airplane to leave the state.’”

Okay, and my question to the Mayor is how many years have you all been working on these solutions, 10-15-20 years or more?

Trump has also stated many times that cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York are getting so bad with homelessness and drug use that it is becoming a public health hazard for taxpaying Americans because many are getting sick from the filth and he wants something done before “it hurts our country.”

Does all this sound familiar? You see from the picture, homeless in Kapiolani Park, which is adjacent to Waikiki our State’s economic engine, hanging their clothes while sleeping in tents most days…drug paraphernalia and needles are now so common on beaches and in parks that one would be stupid to walk around without shoes…many surfers and swimmers are getting serious staph infections from the ocean these days…recently a “Polluted Water” sign was issued at Diamond Head Beach…official reason, undetermined…but from most of us who know the area believe it was because of the defecation and urination of 300+ homeless at the water’s edge…this homeless camp has been untouched for almost three years…One homeless squatter even uses the tide pools daily to clean his “honey bucket”…all the small shrimp, crabs, and fish are dead or nonexistent there now and the beach area reeks of human waste…

Everyone tells me to be patient and “you too could be homeless, they need love and support”…to this I say, “ENOUGH”…it’s time for tough love…We ALL need to obey the law…if someone is doing drugs in the streets, parks, or beaches, they need to be arrested and go to jail, be convicted of their crime, and while serving their time, be put in mandatory drug rehab and mental health treatment…

AND yes, it’s not illegal to be homeless, BUT it is illegal to squat on public lands and property…

I’m so hoping Trump will include Honolulu in his future and give us a Notice of Environmental Violation from the EPA…Force our city, county, and State governments to work for all the people of Hawaii…COME ON PRESIDENT TRUMP…BRING IT ON…
